  1. I have 5 invites to share for the new @iAPresenter app. ia.net/presenter (DMs are open) A totally different way to create presentations. Used it last week for my meetup talk and loved it.
  2. Thanks to all who showed up. ♥️ I had so much fun meeting some new faces in our little Swiss Laravel community. @ruslansteiger/1583370529985028096
  3. Nothing planned next Thursday evening? Come and join the next edition of the Laravel Meetup in Zurich. @ruslansteiger will talk about Debugging with Ray. I will talk about @LaravelLivewire. See you there. 👋 meetup.com/de-DE/laravel-switzerland-meetup/events/288473420/
  4. Took me a while, but could finally fix a MaxAttemptsExceededException in one of our apps that plagued me for the last couple of weeks. 💪 Folks: check that the retry_after setting is greater than the highest job timeout.
  5. The Full Stack Radio sticker is still there. Added a @tailwindcss sticker to the mix. 😎 @_stefanzweifel/1172884901697327114
  6. I’m basic AF and bought the same keyboard again. Just in US layout. Hope I can fluently code with it by the end of the year.
  7. My team started to use a shared Obsidan vault for our internal documentation and notes. Neat feature: We can use mermaid to create diagrams for state machines. 💅
  8. Installed DiffusionBee to tinker with StableDiffusion on my Mac through a GUI. Impressive what that model can generate (and also a bit scary)
  9. The git-auto-commit Action crossed 1000 stars over the last days. 🤩 Three years ago I never thought that this Action would be come so popular. Still amazed at all the workflows y'all are building with it. github.com/stefanzweifel/git-auto-commit-action
  10. Dependabot day! 🤖 (Number might look overwhelming, but 95% of those PRs have already been auto merged. All tests passing.)
  11. Diving into code directly after reading the "getting started" docs of a new package/framework is still my favourite way to learn new stuff.
  12. Wanted to force me to take a bit of a break of Twitter. My solution: Block the domain on the entire network through Pi-hole. 🤓
  13. 💡 Review of BenQ's ScreenBar Was searching for a replacement for my fluorescent tube lamp for my tiny desk. Got a review-unit from BenQ for their monitor lamp and it works great. Not cheap though. stefanzweifel.io/posts/2022/08/08/review-of-the-benq-screenbar
  14. Working on my first project potentially used by people in other timezones. It aggregates data/statistics and I did not expect things to get complicated that quickly. Good learning opportunity though.
  15. That 90s packaging design. Something for @jackmcdade.
  16. Rebuilding my personal site with Laravel, Filament, laravel-export and Orbit. So much fun! 🏄 Content is stored in md files; but they are Eloquent models. Edit in Filament or any text editor. filamentphp.com github.com/ryangjchandler/orbit
  17. Vite is so hot right now. But did you know you can replace Laravel Mix with esbuild too? I did that on my Jigsaw powered website and wrote an esbuild plugin to generate a mix-manifest.json for easier cache busting. → stefanzweifel.io/posts/2022/07/02/create-a-mix-manifestjson-file-with-esbuild
  18. Instead of buying new keycaps for the DE keyboard layout I bought a set for the US layout. 🤦 Wonder now if I should just retrain my brain and switch to US layout. Anyone done this before?
  19. If I would be hiring, I wouldn’t get Stefan away so easily. Hire him. @stefanbauerme/1542132953999892480
  20. Wow! Thank you @github for sponsoring me. ♥️
  21. Ok. @github Copilot is nuts. Writing a silly little CLI to gather the number of visitors of my gym. Copilot wrote the HTTP fake and database assertion for the test on its own. 🤯
  22. 🖋️ Introducing sidecar-browsershot Short post how the package came to be, how it works under the hood and what you can do with it. → stefanzweifel.io/posts/2022/06/21/introducing-sidecar-browsershot
  23. Has anyone ever attempted to write a package for a rule-system for notifications or "actions"? For example like the one in Sentry? Currently building something similar in a project and wish there would be a high-quality package that solves all the complex problems. 🤔
  24. Apple’s WWDC video on passkeys/WebAuthn is pretty great. Explanation how they work and why you should use them starts at 25:15 developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2022/10092/
  25. 📦 Published v0.2.0 of my esbuild-mix-manifest Plugin. Generates a mix-manifest.json file compatible with Laravel Mix. Great for Jigsaw sites where you only want to build CSS but still want cache busting baked in. (Screenshot shows how I use it) → github.com/stefanzweifel/esbuild-mix-manifest-plugin
  26. 📦 Released v1.1.0 of sidecar-browsershot Now has it's own config file where you can fine tune the used memory and define the number of instances to warm up. github.com/stefanzweifel/sidecar-browsershot
  27. Released v1.6.0 of the changelog-updater Action. It now shifts headings in your release notes to fit into the CHANGELOG. 🪄 (Works great with auto-generated release notes) Thanks @OliverNybroe for bringing this up and help fine tune it. 👏 github.com/stefanzweifel/changelog-updater-action
  28. ✏️ Ever needed to work with an SDK and wished you could use Http::fake() in your Laravel tests? In this blog post I explain how you can achieve this for the Facebook Business SDK using the Adapter pattern. stefanzweifel.io/posts/2022/05/29/use-laravels-http-client-with-facebooks-business-sdk
  29. Hiking Stefan is happy Stefan. ☺️ First big hike this year. Well worth the 750m ascent. Swiss public transport is as always pretty insane. Didn’t have to wait more then 10 minutes for transit trains to arrive.
  30. New partial Tailwind CSS color palette? 🌈
  31. Meetups are fun! It was so awesome to see other Laravel devs in Switzerland. And @ruslansteiger is a great speaker with a lot of energy. ⚡ Can't wait to see him on the big stage. @ruslansteiger/1526823359039799296
  32. Work with Frontend tech? I can highly recommend taking 30 minutes of your day and watch this video with all the new stuff that has shipped or is coming to all major browsers. youtube.com/watch?v=5b4YcLB4DVI Personal favourite is the experimental selectmenu-tag for custom dropdowns.
  33. This is also a great pattern when you rely on OAuth logins in production, but the provider doesn't support local TLDs. Eg. add a "Login with Developer Account" button in local enviornments as you can't use Google Login on domains ending with .test. @Philo01/1358860651268083719
  34. Great to see that Apple, Google and Microsoft is pushing for more FIDO support and more passwordless sign-ins. apple.com/newsroom/2022/05/apple-google-and-microsoft-commit-to-expanded-support-for-fido-standard/ Still haven't come across an app/website where security keys are the primary way to sign-up.
  35. Could sit in in a talk recently, where a team explained the performance improvements done in their Ruby app. Boiled down to - n+1 queries - use queue workers Realized (again!) how grateful I'am for working with Laravel. Stuff to prevent such things comes out-of-the-box.♥️
